Trinetra:Care Home for Blind Children

"These children have nowhere to go if Trinetra is forced to close".

Trinetra Foundation is a Not-for-Profit Organization registered 12 years ago in Kathmandu. Kancha Gurung the Chairman of this organization is visually impaired himself. Kancha lives with the children at the same hostel along with his wife and son and runs the facility. His wife and son are partially blind. There are 7 board members at Trinetra and most of them run hotels and restaurants Kathmandu. Due to the pandemic and the collapse of the tourism industry in Nepal, many have lost their business and cannot support Trinetra going forward. Dolma Foundation has sponsored a child there for some time, and we know first-hand the vital work they do. These children would have nowhere to go if Trinetra was forced to close.

How can you help?

  1. Sponsor a child for full board and education from the list here
  2. May a donation to the running costs and equipment
During the lockdown, as schools were closed, many of the children were taught musical instruments.

Dolma Foundation has completed its due diligence on Trinetra according to our Child Protection Policy, Safeguarding Policy & Confidential Policy. They are fully compliant and we continue regular training and monitoring.
