A Thank You Smile!
September 13, 2016
Nalu Tamang - lived in a very tiny hut made out of tin sheets and tarpaulins. She is partially deaf and has difficulty communicating with others. The devastating earthquake multiplied Nalu's vulnerability with no close relatives to care for her. Using the traditional architectural model, Dolma Foundation built a stone house for Nalu among many other villagers. Dolma provided construction materials, labour, and site supervision and Nalu also received support from the community with additional labour to have a new roof. We continue rebuilding other houses that are nearing completion. Though she speaks little, when asked about her new home, Nalu can't help but express her joy with her beautiful smile.
